3446
ANTIQUE SILVER IVORY CHILD BABY RATTLE BELLS Silver rattle with a silver figure of a boy in historical costume holding a bell with original ivory handle. European. 19th century.

Total length is approx 7 inches.

A young boy with shoulder-length hair stands on a stylised hill with chased repoussed foliage. He wears oriental clothing - wide sleeves, floral repousse

bolero and flower-form skirt bottom of the tunic. Wide, flowing trousers and pointy shoes. In one hand he holds a bell that swings and rings. Suspended from

the base are another 6 jingle bells.

A conical extention under the domed base connects to a shaped ivory handle. A loop on one side was possibly connected to a chain. There is a hole on one side

of the ivory, where the chain could have been joined to on the other side.
Very fine and beautiful detail. Possibly worn hallmarks on funnel on underside are not legible. Otherwise, very good condition.

AMERICAN RIFLE SOLDIER ST SILVER BADGES V OLD Here is a small bag with a number of badges and a silver chain. They were in the drawer of an antique table that I bought about 10 years ago. The contents are as follows:

MAGNIFICENT HP LEAD PARADE TOY SOLDIER MUSICI Set of 10 magnificent handpainted lead soldiers in Parade Dress. Part of the estate of a vintage lead soldier collection.
The tallest figure, holds the banner at 3 3/4inches. Height to the top of most dress helmets is 3inches.
Each figure stands/walks on a green, angled base. Smart white tight trousers with a stripe along the side and a sword on the left. Royal blue jackets with gold buttons and epaulettes, red cuffs and collars. Some figures play musical instruments and others carry flags (Prussian/Russian?) and standards. They are handpainted in rich enamel. The detail is outstanding - from the expression in the eyes to the rosy cheeks and moustaches.
All in wonderful condition.

1914
ALL COMPOSITION CHRISTENING DOLL RELIABLE A 13inch all-composition baby doll almost certainly made by the Reliable company, Toronto Canada, early 20th century. Christening costume.
The entire body and head are made of painted composition, which is in remarkably good condition, considering the age and delicate nature of the material. Moulded, painted hair, red painted mouth, brown glass eyes that close when she lies down and bristle eyelashes. Neck swivels as do arms and legs.
The clothes are old style, but not original.
There are no marks to be found on the doll, but she is very similar to the 17inch doll from the same collection, which is marked Reliable.
Both dolls are in remarkable condition for their age - as close to mint as any composition doll. The only fault I could find on this doll is the left eye, which is milky.
