GEORGIAN SILVER CASTER HESTER BATEMAN LONDON
A George III sterling silver pepper / sugar caster, made in London, England, by Hester Bateman, 1784. <P> Measures approx 5 3/4 inches high. Weighs 2.535 oz (73g). <P> Round base with baluster body. Lid fits securely and is engraved and pierced with particularly attractive design. Piercing is intact (no splits). Twist finial on top of lid beautifully moulded. The top with Finely engraved initials on front.<P> A row of hallmarks underneath Maker's mark H.B; lion, leopard and date letter 'i'. Lion and maker's mark on lid.<br> Condition is very good.

SILVER CRUET SET ON STAND OPEN SALTS, BLUE GL
Sterling silver cruet set on stand with original old blue glass liners. Made in Birmingham, England 1876-7. Maker SWS. <br> Stand is about 4 1/2 inches to the top of the handle. Silver weighs 76g / 2.7oz. <br> 3 open salt / condiment containers - usually for salt, pepper and the larger one for mustard. The two smaller ones are rounded octagons, while the largest, also 8 sided is more rectangular in shape. Sides are beautiful openwork suspended between flattened rope twist borders. Stands on a total of 4 round ball feet. Long pole ending in a triangular handle. THick blue glass liners to protect the silver. <br> Hallmarks on front of largest container lion, date letter b (1876-7), anchor for Birmingham and maker's mark SWS, which appears in Seymour Wyler's book on silver hallmarks, page 199. The lion and date letter are repeated on the handle. <br> Condition is good with no dings/dents/damage.

LONDON GEORGIAN ST SILVER TOAST RACK 1833 CHA
Antique English, Georgian Sterling silver 6-slice large toast rack made in London, England, by Chas Fox in 1833. <br><br> A little over 6 3/4inches long; approx 5 1/2inches high and weighs 163grams.<br><br> Rectangular base stands on 4 ball feet. Rounded corners with middle bar, on a smaller ball foot, for added support. 7 curved silver bars to hold 6 generous slices of toast (or waffles). In the center is a bar with a handle. The toaster is the epitomy of elegant simplicity and looks as wonderful today as it did almost 200 years ago.<br><br> Hallmarks underneath are very clear: Maker's mark CF for Chas Fox; lion passant, leopard head uncrowned, date letter S and monarch facing right.<br><br> Condition is very good.

19C DUTCH ENGLISH SILVER OPENWORK FOOD SERVER
Fabulous antique 930 Dutch silver openwork food server set with an old coin in the handle. Made in the Netherlands ( Holland ) 19th century and imported to London, England, with both Dutch and English hallmarks for the 19th century. <P> Measures 6 inches long and weighs 60 grams. <P> Wavy border with gentle scalloped sides. Great openwork highlighted with very fine engraved detail and highlights. BIrds, flowers and scrolling foliage in the bowl. The handle has two moulded mardinieres of flowers and leads to an old silver coin set within a dramatic folded frame. <P> The bowl is hallmarked with a large 930 which is the standard of silver better than sterling. A line of smaller hallmarks show a maker's mark LL, lion, Q, F, and leopard head, which indicates that it was imported to London. <br> Good condition with slight wear to the jardiniere on the handle, where it would have been commonly held. <P> Ideal for serving fruit, vegetables or other food, especially items that need to drip juice or gravy. <P> Note: Q in shield shape is 1891 and F is 1881.

SALT PEPPER CASTER MUSTARD SILVER ORGL LINERS
Antique condiment set consisting of an open salt, pepperette or pepper caster, and mustard pot, made of silver with original blue glass liners. <br> Pepper is a little over 3 inches tall. Mustard a little under 3 inches from end to end, including handle. Total weight, including glass is 177g. <br> Made of high quality European silver of 835 standard. Classic Georgian shapes to open salt and mustard pot. Pepperette also classic Georgian lighthouse shape with wonderful, long paw feet attached by trilobed foliage to the body. The other pieces have the same feet. <br> Original blue glass liners are fitted into the salt and mustard pots with the rims slightly folded over them, so they cannot slip out. Each of the blue liners has a negligible rim chip - easilly forgiveable considering age and usage. Mustard has hinged lid.<br> Each piece is hallmarked with 835 silver standard; DA+; ZII - which looks somewhat Cyrillic in style. <br> Good condition.

OPENWORK STERLING SILVER FISH SERVER MARY CHA
Classic English sterling silver reticulated server, made London 1828 by maker MC, listed as Mary Chawner. <P> Measures 11 3/4 inches long and weighs 138.2g (4.875oz). <P> Elegantly carved server with simple, engraved border decoration and a wonderful reticulate openwork pattern in the center. Can be used to serve fish or asparagus or any other vegetable. Sturday, elegant handle with strong join, typical of the Georgian period. Wide, rounded terminal curves gently back with fold on the back side. Engraved single initial L. <P> Hallmarked on the back with maker MC; lion; leopard; date letter 'n' and another worn hallmark, which is likely the monarch head.<P> Good condition with no dents/restorations.

1932 SILVER SALT PEPPER MUSTARD BLUE GLASS FI
Antique Sterling silver cruet set consisting of salt, pepper, mustard with original blue glass liner, in fitted box. Made Birmingham England, 1932.<P> Box is a little over 5 1/2 inches accross. Salt and pepperette approx 1 3/8 inches high; Mustard is approx 1 1/2 inches to top of thumb piece. <br> Original leather fitted box with silk and velvet lining. Barrel shaped salt and pepper castors. Lids screw on and off easilly. Salt has dent at top of lid (see 'photos). Mustard is also barrel shaped, but rounder with delicate handle and strong hinged lid. Small dent on lid of mustard. Original blue glass liner in good condition. <br> Mustard and salt are hallmarked with maker A.S.P. CO; anchor, lion, date letter H for 1932. Pepper is similarly marked but date is J and maker is E.E.

DECO FISH SET FOR 6 W SERVING PIECES ORIGL BO
Vintage silver & celluloid fish flatware set for 6 people, along with fish serving pieces ( knife and fork ) in original fitted wooden box. Made in England, early 20th century. <P> Fish knives are each 8 inches long; forks 7 inches long; Serving knife is almost 11 1/2 inches long and serving fork is 8 1/2 inches long.<P> Great quality early 20th century manufacture: the handles look like ivory or bone, but are an early form of celluloid. The strips where handle joins blade/tynes is possibly sterling silver and is hallmarked with a crown and lion WY (maker) and E date. Forks are engraved with a simple badge shaped motif. Knives have a scrolling foliage pattern that does not intrude too much on the blade. Serving pieces are larger versions of the knives and forks. This is a very sturdy, attractive set. <P> The set comes in it's original, fitted box. Made of mahogany with a great grain and patina. Inside is lined with dark green velvet that shows off the set beautifully. Although there is no key, the lid closes very firmly and all pieces are held securely by their excellent fit. <br> Condition is generally good with negligible signs of light use, but no damage of any sort. Simply elegant.

WILLIAM IV 8PC ST SILVER & GLASS CRUET SET 18
William IV Sterling silver and cut glass cruet set on stand with carrying handle. Made London, England 1832 by John, Henry and Chas Lias. <br><br> Length approx 10 inches and height approx 10 1/4 inches. Shaped rectangular stand with gadrooned foliate/floral borders and beautiful shell feet. The handle consists of a series of arches - 4 sweeping from the
sides and joining in the middle in a tapering stand that supports a u-shaped swirl with small scrolling ends. This in turn supports an arched handle, with
the same gadrooned flowers and leaves as the bottom rim. The fitted bottles, held within support rings, stand on a platform, linked to the gently curving rim
by an inverted, curving side. There are a total of 8 bottles. 4 have fuchsia shaped glass stoppers/lids. 4 have sterling silver lids, each with a
finial/handle and pierced according to the function of the bottle: one with swirling reticulation used as a sugar sifter, one with small holes, for
salt/pepper. Two with closed lids - one for mustard and one with a long, silver spoon attached to the indside of the lid. <br> The glass is faceted and cut
in a variety of columnar and circular designs. Very solid, stable appearance. Rings at terminals of two arches for holding stoppers when bottle is in use.
<br><br> Silver is hallmarked: Monarch facing right, lion passant, date letter 'r' for 1832. Leopard head indicating London. Makers marks (some slightly worn) are IL
over HL over CL for John, Henry and Chas Lias.<br> Condition is generally very good. THe rims of the bottles have small imperfections, as is to be expected and one of them has a fairly large rim chip, clearly
shown in the 'photos.

ANTIQUE FRENCH ST SILVER CASTER MUFFINEER 19C
Antique French silver caster or muffineer, used for sprinkling sugar/cinnamon etc over food. Made 19th century. Measures 6 3/4inches tall. Weighs 3oz. <br><br> Classic form with bell and inverted bell shapes. Beautifully detailed acorn finial. Gadrooning around base and widest area, which is also adorned with 3 finely shaped shells. <br><br> Fully hallmarked including head of Minerva and a lozenge with maker's mark.<br><br> Generally good condition, with negligible 'dings' commensurate with age and mentioned only for total accuracy.

6 CUT GLASS SILVER OVERLAY OPEN SALTS BOX
Set of 6 sterling silver overlaid cut glass open salts in their original, fitted box. Made early 20th century. <br><br> Each salt is a little over 1 1/2 inches diameter and slightly under 1/2 inch in height. The salts have a nicely cut floral looking sun burst that covers almost the entire bottom surface. The rims are entirely covered in silver and the sides have a scrolling design in silver overlay, in the Art Nouveau style. <br> Each salt is hallmarked - engraved marks are difficult to read, but appear to be 925 over 1000 FINE and 3 circles, the central one with a capital A in it, followed by number eg 3C or 96. The condition of all of the salts is very good, with no chips/cracks/restoration.<br><br> The box is 7 1/4 - 7 1/2 inches square. The fitted bottom is made of deep forest green velvet. The rest is embroidered silk in the same colour. Besides a little wear to the silk on the corners, the box is in good condition. The bright gold coloured clasp is very pretty, but is missing the little latch that connects top to bottom (see 'photos).

Set of 8 Art Deco knife rests done during the Art Deco period, by Yorel, France - circa 1920-30's. Each piece is approx 3 1/4 - 3 1/2inches long. Each knife rest is a fabulously designed animal, fish or bird, very stylised in typical Art Deco manner. Each piece stands on a rectangular base, with impressed factory mark YOREL. Condition is good. Ducks, pelican, goose, dog, elephant, and other species.

Sterling silver sauce boat made by Omar Ramsden and Alwyn Carr, London, 1911. <br> Measures a tad under 5 1/2inches long and 2 inches high. <br> Oval base with clear signs of gentle hand hammering. Slightly elongated, elegantly curved bowl, the sides curling over, widening towards the middle. Understated and sophisticated.<br> Marks and hallmarks as follows: Engraved underneath parallel to the oval perimeter: OMAR RAMSDEN ET ALWYN CARR ME FECERVNT. On the side, beneath the curled rim:maker's mark RN & CR (Ramsden and Carr); lion passant, leopard head, date letter q. The form of the hallmarks date the piece to 1911.<br> Good condition. No damage/restoration.

M HAMMER SILVER PLIQUE-A-JOUR ENAMEL BOX SET
Gilt silver plique a jour and cloisonne enamel oyster / hors d'oeuvre cocktail set cased in
original fitted box, made by Marius Hammer, Bergen, Norway late 19th - early 20th century. MINT.
<br> Forks are approx 4 1/4 inches long. Serving spoon is 5 1/8 inch long. <br> Set consists of 6 2-pronged forks, each with a different floral arrangement in plique a jour
cloisonne and a central serving spoon, (a little like a caddy spoon, but substantially larger),
made of exquisite plique a jour and cloisonne enamel. <br> The silver is gilded, as can be see in the 'photos and the handles are twisted, the server being
bigger, wider and more substantial than ther forks. The colours of the enamel are stunning and
range from yellow through greens and blues to red. Beautiful unique tiny floral depictions - each
a work of art. The serving spoon is quite outstanding, combining the plique a jour and cloisonne
enamel technique in the bowl and with beautiful enamelling on the end of the twisted and
scrolling handle. <br> Each piece has impressed 900 silver hallmark, MH and Marius Hammer logo. <br> Condition is excellent, especially considering the age and delicacy of the items.<br> Comes in original fitted box. The bottom is lined with velvet and the inside of the lid in silk
with gold lettering M. HAMMER JUVELEER BERGEN (M Hammer, Jeweller, Bergen). Condition of box is
great with silk and velvet in great shape.
