ANTIQUE GEORGIAN SILVER BRANDY WARMER LONDON
Antique George III sterling silver brandy warmer. Made by John Emes, London, England 1801. <P><P> Weighs a whopping 551 grams. A little over 5 1/2 inches to the top of the handle. Body is 4 1/4 inches in diameter, excluding the spout. <P><P> Classic, understated elegance. Round body with spout and long handle - conical silver extending from the side with matching fitted and turned wooden handle. Detachable lid with hinged cover of spout and silver and wood finial. <P> Lid and body have matching crest: a bundle of feathers within an oval reserve with double border and buckle. Engraved inside the double border is: <br> THE GIFT OF RICH'D HILL JUN'R. What a wonderful gift from RIchard Junior !!. <P><P> The patina of both silver and wood is supremely tactile. Silver is almost buttery on the inside of the pot (which someone suggested might have been used also as a butter warmer for sauce). Overall voluptious rich quality. Well over 200 years old. <P><P> Hallmarked fully underneath as well as lion passant on inside of the flap of the spout on lid. JE for maker John Emes surrounded by monarch's head (George III); leopard head crowned for London; date letter F for 1801; lion passant for sterling silver. <P><P> Very good condition. Minute ding (pinprick size) lower bottom, mentioned only for the sake of total accuracy.

ANTIQUE ST SILVER ORNATE ENGLISH CLARET JUG 1
Antique sterling silver, partially gilded claret jug. Made Birmingham, England 1876. <P><P> Measures 13 1/2 inches high. Weighs 930 grams. <P><P> Baluster shaped body on a round, pedestal base. Bands of stylised buds/folliage around base and shoulder. Fan-shaped fluting radiates around the lower slopes. A wide band of relief sculpted Greek mythological figures surrounds the circumference at the widest part. Scenes of warriors, athletes, woman and children. The handle is a series of scrolling acanthus leaves with beautiful detail, ending in an acorn near the lid. The hinged lid and inner part of the neck are gilded. <P><P> Hallmarks:The full series of hallmarks is found about an inch from the top of the handle. Hallmarks are also inside the lid and under the base. Marks are: makers mark FE; Queen Victoria's head in profile facing left; lion passant; anchor for Birmingham; date letter 'b'. There is also an engraved Elkington & Co on the base. <P><P> Condtion is very good.

ANTIQUE SILVER COCKTAIL SHAKER MARTINI SET GO
Antique Art Deco / Modern sterling silver cocktail / martini set including cocktail shaker, 12 goblets and matching tray. Made in Asheville, NC by William Dodge, top studio silversmith, known and collected by museums. The set belonged to the late Lucy Camp Armstrong Moltz, brother of William Nelson Camp, both amongst the richest Americans of the early 20th century (and friend of the Van Der Bilts etc). This set comes from the Camp Estate. <P><P> 112.43 oz. Tray measures a little over 15 inches accross; goblets are 2 7/8 inches high; cocktail shaker is 14 1/4 inches high. <P><P> Outstanding example of Art Deco or Art Modern design. THe tall cocktail shaker with stepped top, like a rocket ship or skyskraper, with concave facets adding to the streamlined effect. All handhammered. Lid has a wooden finial, carved as a flower. <P><P> Every piece is hallmarked with Dodge's name, the silver standard and other hallmarks indicating the maker. <P><P> Condition is very good. No damage of any sort. Provenance: From an extremely prestigious estate: William Nelson Camp, owner of Florida Power, vast real estate and phosphate mines and good friend of the richest of the rich and powerful. <P><P>

3 Sterling silver bottle / decanter labels on chains for whisky, sherry and brandy. Late 19th century. Each is 1 5/8inches at widest point. Total weight is 30g. Ornate scrolling borders around domed, cartouche shaped label. Contents of the bottle WHISKY/BRANDY/SHERRY are engraved on the front. Sterling standard .925 engraved on the back. Great condition - no damage of any sort.

WINE JUG FLAGON 1850 STERLING SILVER R HENNEL
Magnificent wine jug / flagon, made London, England circa 1850 by Richard Hennell. Measures 12inches tall (31cm) and weighs 1130 grams. Cylindrical shaped body, narrowing and curving slightly towards the lid. Body chased and engraved with fruit, scrolls and arches, somewhat Persian in style. Fabulous spout and scrolling handle with original ivory heat insulators. Applied deeply carved oak leaves. Octogonal panelled finial on lid also hints at Persian or Turkish influence. Finial can be removed for ease of cleaning. Empty cartouches under spout allow for monogram or dedication. Excellent quality by top English silversmith. Fully hallmarked: next to handle, on handle, inside lid. Hallmarks are maker RH, date letter O, lion passant, leopard head and queen's head. Condition is excellent except for a gentle dent on the base in front that can easilly be straightened out. No other damage of any sort to be seen.

19C SHEFFIELD SILVER WINE COOLER w MASKS
Very solid Sheffield Plate silver wine cooler. Made in England, early 19th century. 9 1/2inches tall. Removable top. Ring in the bottom to hold wine bottle securely. Urn shape on round foot. Fluted decoration to sides, base and handle. Beaded inner rim to top. Rich repousse vineleaf and shell decoration around outer rim shows first quality workmanship. Magnificent handles, curve up gently, fluted with an overlay of foliage. Each handle is connected to the body of the wine cooler by a fantastic satyr's mask with long ears, hooked nose, foliage for hair and waving beard. Like most early Sheffield silver, there are no hallmarks. The quality of the actual silver is fabulous with a minimum of bleeding on the rim of the foot, showing the copper underneath.

EXCEPTIONAL VICTORIAN SILVER CLARET JUG 1872
Exceptional Victorian sterling silver claret jug, Sheffield, 1872. 11 7/8inches high. Weighs 30oz. Round domed base with repousse floral and scrolling patterns. Ovoid body richly chased and engraved with panels of repousse trailing vines, grapes & leaves and c-scrolls, the latter forming a large cartouche front and back with gargoyle/mask heads above them. Elegant rounded neck leads to marvellous bill-like spout with conforming hinged lid. Beaded rim. Atop this is a 4-sided finial with moulded dog/lion heads. The handle is in the Classical Grecian style with a superbly moulded female head on it's top corner. Hallmarks : Maker HH & JEB (John Edward Bingham for Walker and Hall, Sheffield), Crown (Sheffield), lion passant, date letter E and monarch's head in profile. Excellent condition.

2BL STERLING SILVER DRINK / ALCOHOL MEASURE
To measure tots, martinis etc here is a sterling silver double measuring cup. Probably first half of the 20th century. <P><P> Measures: 3 3/4" high. Weighs 2 oz. <P><P> Double measuring cup with one larger and one smaller funnel-shaped measure, joined in the center by a band. Silver is a nice, firm quality, with a great patina formed over the years. <P><P> Marks: the central band is inscribed STERLING 2233. <P><P> Condition: very good. The outer rim is ever so slightly bent out of a perfect circle due to age and use, but this in no way detracts from the piece.
