Very unusual shape in the form of a lyre musical instrument with a horseshoe of diamonds over the top. (Lucky lyre?). Great look, well made and very comfortable to insert and wear. The diamonds have a lovely sparkle and the horseshoe shape is a great bonus. Go well with day or evening clothes from jeans to elegant. <P><P>

ANTIQUE GEORGIAN CUT STEEL EARRINGS C1780 Antique, Georgian era cut steel earrings. Made circa 1780-90. <P><P>
Measure 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 inches long and 7/8 inches accross widest point. Weigh 8.5 grams. <P><P>
Cut steel was introduced as a more economical alternative to diamond jewellery that gave the same glittering effect in evening lamplight.
Botanical theme: small flowers attached to the original loops with foliage stretching out beneath them. Suspended beneath another cut steel bauble is a dangling large flower, surrounded by a round wreath of foliage. The lower 'pinwheels' swing as the wearer moves. Each part beautifully faceted - catches the light, glimmers and sparkles. The steel rivet attached to brass back plates. Silver wire loops - very easy to insert in the ear and very comforatble to wear.<P><P>
All parts are original and in very good condition with expected surface dots commensurate with the age and one tiny 'speck' of rust on one earring (that can be removed).

Earrings worn through the ear back to front in classic French / European fashion. The upper part is a wheel of exquisite filigree wirework and granulation. Loops suspend the conical drops that dangle and swing as the wearer moves. Openwork cannetille - extremely fine detail and outstanding craftmanship. <P><P>
Not hallmarked, but tests 18k gold. <P><P>

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN MICRO MOSAIC LONG DROP EARR Antique, Victorian micromosaic earrings. Made circa 1870-80.<P><P>
Measure just over 1 1/2 inches (40mm) long, not including the loops. <P><P>
Elongated diamond or kite shape. Borders are a geometric blue and white pattern. Ground is blue. The earrings depict a pair of doves nestling amongst foliage. Gilt metal forms part of the branches. The mount is silver coloured metal.<P><P>
As the highly enlarged 'photos show, the earrings are in very good condition with no missing tesserae.

A little over 2 inches long. <P><P>
Long earrings, with great swing. A simple gold shield-shape connected to the loop, from which 3 tiny diamonds, each colette set and joined to the others by gold rings, thus providing great mobility. A flower-form gold cup suspends a torpedo shaped glass, coloured like an aquamarine. Very delicate and fine with a wonderful 'look'. <P><P>

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CUT STEEL DROP DANGLE EARRI Antique, Victorian cut steel drop dangle earrings. Made in England. Believed to be early, possibly even Georgian, based on the complexity of the studs and method of construction.<P><P>
Earrings are over 1 1/2 inches long, excluding the loops (measured from the flower to the end of the drop). Their total weight is 5.1grams, thus very comfortable to wear. <P><P>
The Georgians and Victorians used cut steel as an economical alternative to diamonds. The facets of the steel gave the same glittering effect, without the cost.
Each stud is faceted and riveted to a base plate. The earrings are in the form of a flower suspending a long oval, within which is another, identical flower. Simple loops go through the ears. Swing of suspended drops adds to the sparkle. <P><P>

VICTORIAN ETRUSCAN REVIVAL 18K GOLD TURQUOISE Antique, Victorian Etruscan Revival 18carat gold and turquoise earrings. Made circa 1860-1880. <P><P>
Approx 1 1/8 inches long, excluding the loops. Weigh 8.2 grams. <P><P>
Loops suspend a golden globe which holds a cone, ending in a round half-globe. The shoulders of the globe have a band of gold granules, gradated in size, beneath

which is a ring of cabochon turquoise and raised filigree border. WIthin the half-globe is a circle, very full and round on the bottom and with a band of granules

and cabochon turquoise around the waist. The turquoise gems are surrounded by filigree horseshoe-shapes, as are the stones on the upper ring. The bottom ball

swivels, as does the cone. The design and manufacture are extremely sophisticated and exhibit the highest quality technique and craftsmanship. Absolutely fabulous

quality. <P><P>
No hallmarks, but test for 18k. <P><P>

ANTIQUE GEORGIAN 18C RUSSIAN EARRINGS DAY/NIG Antique gold, pearl and turquoise day / night earrings. Made in Czarist Russia, during the Georgian era, circa late 1700's - early 1800's. <P><P>
Earrings are approx 2 1/8 inches long, excluding the loops. They weigh 12.8 - 13 grams. <P><P>
The loops are typical of the Georgian period and the earrings are inserted from the back of the ear. <P>
The earrings consist of two parts: the upper portion, which can be seperated from the bottom and worn on their own by day for a simpler effect. The much larger

bottom section, suspended from the loop behind the smaller top part. <P><P>
Tops of earrings have very Slavic, Russian design. They are set with a cabochon turquoise in the center and have paw terminals. Hidden behind the paws are tiny loops

from which golden coils are suspended and which swing with every slight movement. The gold's surface is very finely hand engraved. <P><P>
The large bottom part of the earring has a central part, shaped & engraved like the above, but bigger and set in the middle with a turquoise and pearl flower. Little

natural pearls form the petals of the flowers. A sevigne bow is arranged around this section and is set with turquoise cabochons. Some of the turquoise gems are

imperfect today, due to their great age (see magnified 'photos). <P><P>
Dangling from the middle is a dome, set with turquoise and with a ponytail of minute link tassles. Exceptionally fine. The tassles end in golden granules. A few

tassles are missing from one of the earrings. (see 'photos). <P><P>
Quality of the workmanship is superb. Note the details, engraving even on the sides. Exquisitely fine loops and coils. Fabulous overall effect. <P><P>
Earrings are hallmarked on the loops with Russian mark, 56 (for 14k) and with a maker's mark.
Good condition with the minor exceptions mentioned above in the description and shown magnified in the 'photos.

Weigh 6.5grams. Approx 1/2 inch / 12mm diameter. <P><P>
Round, with domed tops, enamelled in turquoise blue. Most of the surface is covered with a Star of David, set with diamonds.
No hallmarks, but tested electronically at 17k, so at least 14k and possibly 18k. Good condition.

ANTIQUE VICTORIAN CABOCHON GARNET CARBUNCLE E Antique Victorian carbuncle garnet earrings. Made 19th century. <P><P>
Measure1 3/8 inches (approx 33mm) long, excluding the loops. Weigh 9.5 grams. <P><P>
Old, Victorian garents in a deep wine colour that glints and flashes as the light catches the stones. A double flower form with a cabochon carbuncle in the center of each and smaller, faceted stones forming the border. Suspended from a small garnet by a pair of loops, so that the earrings swing with every movement of the wearer. Hang from simple loops are convenient to insert through the ears and comfortable for wearing. <P><P>
The earrings have closed backs, indicating that they are really early. The gold is unmarked, but low carat (approx 9 carat), with the loops testing for 12 ct. gold. <P><P>

ANTIQUE GEORGIAN TORPEDO DROP EARRINGS - FAB Antique, Georgian torpedo drop earrings. Made late 18th century. Circa 1780. <P><P>
Excluding the loops, these are over 2 1/4 inches long. <P><P>
Drop dead gorgeous, classic Georgian earrings, made of gilt metal (not gold). A 3-leaved clover suspends a torpedo shape with moulded, scrolling sides and front and back very finely moulded with fruit, foliage and other pretty patterns. Lobed bottom in decreasing sizes, also finely detailed.<P><P>
While the earrings are not gold and the highly magnified 'photos show wear to the gilding, this is not noticeable to the naked eye. The earrings look great, are very comfortable to wear and considering their age, in good shape without dings or dents.

ANTIQUE GEORGIAN ROSE DIAMOND DROP EARRINGS Antique Georgian rose diamond drop earrings. Circa 1780. <P><P>
Measure 1 7/16 inches long, not including the loops. Weigh 9 grams. <P><P>
Earrings are set in silver with gold backs, which was the way the Georgians did most jewellery. The backs of the stones are fully enclosed, indicating the early age. The stones are in pulled settings with little pinched creases as decoration on the sides of the metal. A loop is attached to one stone from which the rest of the earring is suspended. A tear-drop shape, all outlined with a border of diamonds and one on the bottom for extra elegance. The center suspends a pair of diamonds - one small on top and a much larger one, which swings as the wearer moves. This is a particularly attractive pair of Georgian earrings that are great to wear either by day or night. <P><P>
The earrings are in very good condition.

Fabulous pale blue colour that looks good on everyone, matches every outfit, for every time of day or night. Large stones set with star-burst like gold setting - almost like organic tentacles holding up the stones for best effect. These are suspended from simple gold loops, from which they swing and move, the facet cut surface glistening and glinting in subtly attractive fashion. <P><P>
Gold tests for 14 karat. <P><P>

Fabulous ruffled fan or accordion, twining around itself. Very sophisticated, elegant design in the form of tightly pleated 'folds' twining like a helix and folding about itself. Clip ons - very comfortable to wear, especially for those without pierced ears. <P><P>
Hallmarks on the back include CARTIER, 14K and PAT number. <P><P>
While the hugely magnified 'photos show that they might do with a clean, they are in very good condition with no damage/restoration of any sort.

ANTIQUE CHINESE PEARL EARRINGS -AMAZING LONG Antique natural pearl earrings. Made in China circa 1880. <P><P>
Each earring measures approx 3 inches including the loop. Excluding the loop, about 2 7/8 inches long. <P><P>
Mounted on vermeil (gilt silver), in a delicate filigree design. <P><P>
Loops enter the ear from the back, in the antique, French style. <P><P>
The earrings consist of an astonishing 7 levels. From the loop that goes through the ear is a stylised flower, that would sit on the lobe of the ear. It suspends a pagoda like structure, from which are 4 levels of umbrella-shaped mounts and finally, a single pearl. Every level is richly adorned and set with pearls and has pearls suspended from loops. The parts of the earring are connected via looped screws and will swing and move with every movement of the wearer. The suspended pearls are even more full of life and shimmer to and fro in a constant mesmerising movement. The effect of the size, design and movement is fabulous and unique. The workmanship very good. The look absolutely stunning. <P><P>
