ANTIQUE VICTORIAN GOLD CARVED CORAL BROOCH
Antique, Victorian gold and coral brooch. Circa 1840-1880. Measures slightly over 1 1/4 inches long and approx 1 inch wide. Depth over 1/4 inch. <P><P> Set in a rectangular mount with rounded sides and corners and a frill of twisted gold ribbon. Beautiful red coloured coral, deeply carved in the Victorian
Neo Classic / Classical Revival style. Depicts a woman or goddess, seemingly asleep, emerging from a sea of swirling scrolls / waves. The scrolling theme is
finely echoed in the hair, with it's waves and ringlets in every direction. Full cheeks, fine cherub mouth and high brow with the curve of a monumental neck
protruding from the surrounding sea of scrolls. <P><P> Pin on the back is hallmarked 10K (gold mount also tests as such). <P><P> Good, original condition. There is a small flaw / uneven colour in the coral, shown magnified in the pictures, not noticeable to the naked eye unless you are
looking for it.

Antique, Victorian gold, amethyst and hair Memorial Mourning brooch / pin. Made 19th century. (circa 1800-1830).<P><P> Measures approx 7/8 inches long X 3/4 inch wide. Weighs 4-5 grams. <P><P> Classic Victorian rectangular brooch set in 10K gold. A finely detailed golden rectangle with plaited / braided hair of a loved one - still in very good condition and neatly arranged. Surrounded by a border of lovely deep coloured circular cut amethysts. The pin on the back is hinged on one end and has a C-catch. All in good shape. No hallmarks, but tested. Good condition. Memorial Mori jewellery in good condition with such lovely stones is getting quite rare.

ANTIQUE CZECH GARNET ARAGONITE VRIDLOVEC GEM
Antique Czech garnet and Aragonite / Vridlovec gemstone brooch. Made in Czechoslovakia (now Czech Republic), 19th century.<P><P> Rectangular with rounded corners. Measures approx 1 1/2 inches long X slightly under 1 1/4 inches wide. <P><P> Vridlovec, used in jewellery especially to be bought at Europe's health spas of the 19th century with beautiful varied markings. The cushion cut rectangle is surrounded by a ring of old garnets that offset the central stone beautifully. Set in tomback (gold coloured metal used in Czech jewellery). High quality workmanship. Quiet elegance. Good condition.

ANTIQUE INDIAN RUBY DIAMOND PEARL BROOCH HAIR
Antique cabochon ruby, diamond and pearl brooch converted long ago from a hair ornament. Made in India 19th century. <P><P> Diameter is 2 1/4 inches. Weighs approx 44grams. <P><P> ROund, domed brooch, converted from a hair ornament, with the original fitting showing clearly at the back. A ring of pearls surrounds the outer rim. On the top of the dome, in the center, is a flower form with a ruby in the middle and old diamonds around it. The rest of the brooch consists of a marvellous complex pattern of cabochon rubies, each set in a gold cell formed by parrallel curving lines, thus forming a number of overlapping patterns. <P><P> We tested the gold and it stays for 18 carats. <P><P> THe only mark we found is on the pin and the middle letter is slightly obscured: FMC or FHC.

1920-30 DECO BAR PIN BROOCH SAPPHIRE DIAMOND
Art Deco bar pin brooch - natural sapphire and diamonds set in platinum with gold pin. Circa 1920 - 30's. <P><P> Measures 1 inch accross. Weighs approx 2 grams. <P><P> Bar comprised of diamond, 4 sapphires, diamond, 4 sapphires and another diamond. Wonderful colour, excecptionally well set and matched. The platinum setting has a very fine scrolling pattern, again showing the quality of the piece. Pin at the back is in yellow gold. No marks seen. Good condition.

ANTIQUE GOLD SAPPHIRE DIAMOND BROOCH OPENWORK
Gold, silver, sapphire and diamond brooch in an openwork design on different levels, echoing the work of Moser and Hoffman of the Wiener Werkstatte. Unmarked.<P><P> Measures 1 6/8 inch long. <P><P> Rectangular brooch with delicate gold border. A filigree, openwork design contains a number of round sapphires set in gold 'tubes' that protrude from the surface plain of the brooch. A pair of scrolling V's is set with old cut diamonds in silver and is also above the plain of the brooch, but lower than the sapphires. The Victorians often used silver and gold together. A number of small gold globes echo and accentuate the sapphires. The quality of the work is shown by the beauty of the back. Great design that subtly mixes antique with modern design. (modern as used early 20th century).<P><P> Brooch is not hallmarked, but we tested the gold. It is at least 18 carat (the acid did not dissolve the gold at that level). <P><P> Good condition.

Antique Victorian brooch / pin with a fly insection perched on two gold bars. Diamonds and rubies. Made in ENgland, 1800's. <br><br> Measures 1 1/2 inches long. <br><br> 2 gold bars on which a fly perches. It has 3 diamonds in each wing and two diamonds as eyes. THe body is a ruby and on it's back is a round, white pearl. One side has 7969 engraved on it. Good condition.

VICTORIAN PIN SNAKE COILING AROUND CABOCHON G
Antique Victorian long pin with a snake winding around a cabochon garnet. Made in England approx 1840 - 1880. <P> Total length of pin is slightly more than 3 1/2 inches. The section from the end to the snake's head is just under 1 inch in length. <P> Long, flattened pin with a twisted section in the center. At the end is an egg-shaped cabochon garnet encircled by a twining snake. Fabulous, sensuous and very lovely to look at. No hallmarks, but tested for 9carat gold. Good condition. <P> The Victorians loved snake jewelry - Queen Victoria wore snake jewelry at her first opening of Parliament and was given a piece of snake jewelry by her beloved Prince Albert. The rest of the population emulated everything she did and snake jewelry, with it's symbolism, especially of eternity, particularly appealed to them.

Antique brooch made of red coral mounted in cannetille motif gold. Circa 1820, England. <br><br> Measures approx 1 inch accross.<br><br> A beautiful piece of natural, bright red/orange coral, carved into facets with 4 leaves radiating from the center and finely detailed texture. Set in a gold cannetille frame of swirling filigree. Very fine workmanship. The gold tests between 10 and 14 carat. Extended pin at the back with C-catch. Pin is silver. <br><br> Very good condition.

CELLULOID DOG BROOCH FOX TERRIER SCHNAUZER
Authentic antique brooch made of celluloid/one of the very early plastics depicting a pair of dogs, either Terriers (we think Fox terriers) or Shnauzers. <br><br> Measures 1 3/8 inches at highest part; a little under 2 inches accross widest part. <br> A pair of doggies, beautifully modelled in wonderful detail. Blue collars, bright red tongues and googly eyes, that look different depending on the direction. Good condition.

MOON HEART TURQUOISE DIAMOND BROOCH 18K GOLD
Antique crescent moon and heart brooch / pin made of turquoise and diamonds set in 18 carat gold. Most likely English. Dates to the Victorian - Edwardian period. Measures 2 1/8 inches long. Gold crescent slither of a moon with tiny raised jewels in gold at either end. Set with gradated cabochon turquoise gems. A heart, entirely made of diamonds is 'looped' around the moon. Clearly a marvellous romantic gift in a chivalrous age. The back has engraved hallmark 18CT. The piece is entirely original with no damage or restoration. Great condition.

PEPITE GOLD TIE PIN- LALIQUE FOREMAN BRIANCON
Gold & pearl tie pin 'Pepite' by Paul Briancon, who was the foreman who directed the jewelry workshop of Rene Lalique for 20 years from about 1885. Paul Briancon tie pin Pepite weighs approx 5.2g and is almost 2 3/4 inch long. Naturalistically formed in an organic shape with a pearl set in it's center. We found no signature, but this is guarranteed to be the work of Paul Briancon, who was Rene Lalique's forman for about 20 years. The item was part of an auction in Paris, in December 2006, which included a number of his pieces. (Catalogue number can be provided). Good condition.

VINTAGE 18K GOLD & ENAMEL FLOWER BROOCH PIN
Vintage 18 carat gold and enamelled brooch / pin. Made around the middle to 3rd quarter of the 20th century, possibly Italian / American. <br> Weighs 11.7g. Measures slightly under 1 1/4 inches max length. <br> Brooch in the form of two flower stems and a single curlying leaf, twining around each other. The flowers and leaf are beautifully enamelled in green and blue. Gold beaded strands in the centre of each flower, form stamens. <br> The brooch is hallmarked 18K and has a maker's mark on the back (not very clear).<br> Condition is very good. NO damage of any sort.

GOLD PEARL RUBY ANTIQUE BROOCH FROG BULLRUSHE
Antique brooch / pin in the form of a 15 carat gold frog perched on water papyrus / bullrush plant. Made early 20th century (probably first quarter of the 1900's). Measures 1 3/4inches accross. Golden frog, beautifully textured, sits atop the long leaves of a papyrus / bullrush plant. The flowers protrude above him - each one set with a row of pearls. The frog's eyes are made of little rubies. There is a safety chain attachment (see 'photos). Back of pin is marked 14carat. Condition is very good.
