3436
DINING PLACE CARD HOLDERS LALIQUE HOFFMAN GLA Vintage set of 7 glass dining table place card holders made of glass that looks like Lalique or Hoffman. <P><P>
Each measures a little over 3 3/4 inches long. <P>
Rectangular shape from the front, but triangular from the side so that they can balance standing up. Moulded with a raised inner rectangle upon which the name of each guest would be written. The slightly frosted glass around it is moulded with 3 cherubs - two standing on either side, one lounging like a Bacchus on the bottom, alongside a striding monkey. Flowers on top. <P>
We did not find any signature or identifying mark, but the glass is clearly from a top manufacturer such as Rene Lalique in France or Hoffman in Czechoslovakia. <P>
Condition is good. We noticed one minute flake on the front of one of the markers.

R LALIQUE GLASS SILVER FACTICE PERFUME BOTTLE Large glass and silver plate factice perfume / scent bottle advertisement made in Paris, France by Rene Lalique. Circa 1922. <P>
Measures 12 1/4 inches high. <P>
Deep blue cobalt glass, fluted and scalloped on the edges. Top in 3 gradated levels, closely immitating a skyskraper building - the epitomy of Art Deco

style. The reverse gradation is to be seen in the silver plated mount at the base. The colour of the glass is f a b u l o u s. The stopper is turquoise and

has the same fluting as the bottle. The stopper of this bottle is made of glass, unlike modern plastic examples, which also do not have the silver plated

base. The base is engraved with the name of the perfume WORTH. There is a metallic filigree thread around a groove near the top. <P>
Condition is very good. No chips/cracks/damage of any sort.

cravat. Great detail to buttons and pockets, hair flying out behind. Woman leans back demurely, holding a large bunch of roses under her bosom. Could be

Marie Antoinette in one of her Country Maid games. <P>

3283
SIGNED DAUM NANCY CAMEO ART GLASS BOWL IRIDES Signed Daum Nancy cased, cameo art glass bowl. Made Nancy, France, first quarter of the 20th century.<P>
Measures approx 6 1/4 inches accross and 3 inches high.<br>
Irregularly shaped round bowl, curving into 4 lobes. The glass is intrigueing - it has a stippled texture and iridises to different shades, depending on how the light catches it. In regular light it looks pearly and sunshine yellow with pink overtones. In slightly less sunlight, it takes on blue and green hues. See 'photos for different effects. Above this is a deep iron red layer of glass which was cut and cameo carved into a continuous frieze of prickly thistle flowers and foliage on scrolling spined stalks. Very elegant and sinuous. The thistle is the symbolic flower of the Nancy region in France. The thistle cameo design can be seen through the inside of the bowl as well, making this a particularly interesting and beautiful example of Daum cameo. <br>
The bowl is signed in gold script underneath with DAUM NANCY and the cross of Lorraine. <br>
Condition is very good. No chips/cracks/damage/restoration.

3279
VINTAGE ART GLASS PAPERWEIGHT W DAISY FLOWER Vintage art glass paperweight. Exact origin unknown, but certainly has good age to it. (I believe very early 20th century).<br>
Oval globe a little over 3 3/4 inches high, flattened on the bottom.
Made in the form of a daisy plant in various coloured glass and featuring various sophisticated art glass techniques. The stem and leaves originate from an earthy looking mound, actually millefiory glass. Controlled air bubbles, in particular two on the face of the flower, look like two dew drops. Great quality and very lovely. There is a 'swirl' on top, presumably where the hot glass was broken off in the creating process. <br>
Good condition - no chips/cracks/restorations.

3278
VINTAGE VENETIAN MURANO ART GLASS FISH LILAC Vintage Venetian / Murano art glass sculpture of a fish in clear, lilac - grey and gold glass. Made in Italy, 1940-60.<br>
Fabulous sense of movement in this figure of a fish, as he sweeps his tail up in a swooshing curve above his head. Fins extended - the clear glass almost looks spikey, but it's rolling colums echo the roundness of the controlled air bubbles
that constitute much of the patterned decoration of the fish. The lilac-grey glass is ruffled from within and pulled as it sweeps up the tail, adding to the sense of movement. Gold flecks contrast beautifully with the grey.
COndition is very good. No chips/cracks/damage.

3234
WEBB ENGLISH CAMEO GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE 1884 Exceptional Webb cameo art glass perfume /scent bottle with sterling silver cap. Made London, England early 1880's by Thomas Webb & Sons. <br><br>
Monumental 11 inches long. <br>
Flattened elongated oval form. Yellow glass with white overlay carved in magnificent fuchsia pattern with butterflies. Flowers in full bloom and in bud, and beautifully carved foliage. A number of butterflies flutter around the bottle. Round sterling silver cap. Original glass stopper. Gilt silver neck.
The quality of the carving and it's detail is exceptional. The white glass has a buttery feel about it. <br>
Although the name Webb does not appear, the butterflies are their signature mark and there is absolutely no doubt that they produced this bottle. The butterflies were often used in lieu of the company name spelled out. <br>
The silver cap and the gilt silver neck are both hallmarked with lion (sterling standard); leopard (for London), date letter I for 1884-5; Queen's head facing left; and maker's mark, which appears to be FBM (FRM?). <br>
Condition is excellent. No chips/cracks/damage/restorations of any sort.
Previous owner: Acquired from Alan Tillman Antiques, London, England (1977). One of the largest lay down bottles!

3231
5 COLOR CAMEO ART GLASS BOX DAUM NANCY SIGNED Signed 5 colour acid etched and cameo cut art glass covered box with Fuchsia design. Made by Daum Nancy, France, early 20th century.<br><br>
Measures approx 2 1/2 X 4 inches. <br>
Square shape with round lid. There are 5 layers of glass: frosted white (partially cut to clear), green, purple, red and brown. The entire outer surface is decorated with a beautifully cut design of fuschias, in full bloom and in blossom, along with their soft, deep green foliage, highlighted in gold in some places. The cutting is particularly fine, giving a wonderful effect of depth and variation of tone eg a leaf goes from deep, very dark green, through a variety of shades to almost transparent, which has the effect of naturalness as though seen in real sunlight. Extra details are etched and highlighted in gold and polished surface. Other extra fine details include the tiny brown bud of the stem, like a little acorn, the fabulous stamen and again, the tonality of the shades of red. Even the frosted glass on the lid has been carved to clear around the sides in a sweeping pattern, anchored by little rosettes.<br>
The box is signed in cameo with the Daum Nancy and Cross of Lorraine on one side. <br>
Condition is excellent. NO chips/cracks/damage/restoration of any sort.

3229
T WEBB CAMEO GLASS PERFUME BOTTLE CARVED IVOR Signed Thomas Webb & Sons cameo art glass perfume / scent bottle with original silver top. Made in England, 19th century. <br><br>
Measures 5 1/2 inches high. <br>
Bulbous bottom with very long, thin neck ending in a silver collar with matching silver bulbous stopper, attached by a silver chain.
The 3 layers of cased glass have been carved in a beautiful, delicate floral pattern. The colours are shades of white: cream, buttery yellow and iron red. The latter used as highlight and outline. The combination of the light colours looks like carved ivory. Beautiful dog roses and buds, clearly showing a strong Japanese influence in the treatment of delicate branches, blossoms and foliage. A ring of little flowers enclosed in double bands near the top.
Colour of the underlying layer of glass seems to change from light sunshine yellow to a brighter/darker shade as it goes up the bottle.<br>
Raised glass signature THOMAS WEBB & SONS.<br>
