ART NOUVEAU LAMP OPENWORK SHADE, FIGURAL BASE Antique silver plate and red glass Art Nouveau lamp. Made late 19th - early 20th century (1890 - 1910).

Measurements: 19 inches high; base 10 inches in diameter.

Silver plated, with heavy metal, probably brass underneath and partially showing through where the silver is worn. The base consists of 3 long-necked birds, storks, with lovely modelled feathers and graceful detail, such as the overlapping of their toes, stylistically very typical of the Art Nouveau artistic taste.
The domed shade with cutout design, forming hearts where the 3 main lobes meet. Each lobe has a large cutout area, backed with deep red glass and moulded in a marvellous Art Nouveau landscape with trees and swishing curves amidst a host of flowers.
The surface of the shade is further engraved with floral decoration. Finial on top of shade is a beautifully modelled acorn. The red glass behind the cutouts appears dark when the lamp is not lit, but bright red when switched on.
The shade is bordered by a fringe of hanging beads, many of which have fallen off. The bulb is covered by a bag of similar, but smaller, beads.

The lamp is in working condition.

ANTIQUE GILT BRONZE CUT CRYSTAL CANDELABRA Antique gilt bronze and cut crystal candelabra. Made in France, 19th century.

From an extremely prestigious estate: William Nelson Camp, owner of Florida Power, vast real estate and phosphate mines and good friend of the richest of the rich

glitters and plays beautifully as the light catches it at different angles.

Round base with tubular shaped bronze sides enclosing the glass. From this long stem 4 arms curl outwards, each with scrolling openwork decoration and fine foliate

mouldings curling out from the branches. Drip pans and bobeches all with moulded patterns. In the center a long, elegant and slender central stand holds a candle

higher than the rest. Even without us cleaning off the leftover wax from the last ball or dinner, the candelabra are very elegant and beautiful.

Very good condition.

3121

NOUVEAU BRONZE LAMP SIGNED LELEU PARIS SALON Bronze oil lamp with thistle theme modelled in relief. Made in France and artist signed Georges Leleu and Salon 1904. Classic Art Nouveau bronze relief.
Stands 13 1/2 inches high. Round base is just under 7 1/4 inches in diameter.
Superb modelling of thistles and thistle leaves sweep in typical Art Nouveau whiplashed waves around the base and then swoosh up the leg of the lamp, that curves and widens to echo the elegant curves below. The lamp has been converted to electricity and has original French switch and plug.

ANTIQUE CANDLESTICKS ROYAL SOLDIER DRUMMER Pair of antique Royal military figural candlesticks in the form a drummer and rifleman respectively. Made Germany, possibly by Herend.
Measure 12 1/2inches high each.
Each soldier stands on a white, antique-style pillar moulded and gilded to look Classic, with an N in a green wreath of laurels - possibly for Napoleon? The drummer marches forward as he beats a tatto; the rifleman strides forward. Both have large, German military moustaches and the features on their faces are very well modelled. Backpacks, epaulettes, garlanded hats also well modelled and subtlely coloured.
The candle would be placed in the hat of the soldier.
Underneath each pillar has a variety of embossed and engraved marks: A crown and shield within a laurel wreath, enclosed in a circle, very likely the mark of Herend. Incised letters and numbers.

Click for more detail...
2617

ART DECO LAMP GLASS BRONZE BUTTERFLY LADY FIG Classic Art Deco lamp in smoky Lalique style moulded glass and exceptionally modelled butterfly woman in bronze and celluloid.
Measures 11 1/4inches high.
The base is like a layered Deco building with graded sizes, smaller as they go up. Shaped like a flower, with the petals carved into wonderful pyramidal and fanlike geometric shapes that lead the eye towards the figure perched on top.
The butterfly lady is wonderfully modelled so that while she is dressed and hooded, her clothes emphasize her form, both back and front. The clothes are in the form of a butterfly costume, finely detailed. The modelling and texture of the bronze have an almost buttery tactile look.
The lamp is in excellent, original condition. Very close scrutiny will reveal a tiny chip under the base, quite unnoticeable and the gilding of the bronze is naturally, very slightly worn on the legs.
