6 FRITZ HECKERT 1895 GILDED ENAMEL WINE GLASS
Antique set of 6 cut enameled and gilded wine glass goblets. Made by Fritz Heckert in Bohemia (now Czech Republic) 1895.

Each glass is 7 3/4 inches tall.

Curved, round base with engraved and gilded and blue enamelled simple patterns. The stem is in the old German drinking glass tradition with knops and applied prunkts
in the form of flowers. Concentric ridged rings in graduated sizes and inverted cones make the clear necks fascinating in themselves and the complex form results in
a perpetual play of light on the glass. The bowls of the goblets are outstanding examples of classic Fritz Heckert glass-making technique, combining staining, cut
glass, enamel, gilding and wonderful design. Heart pattern with tiny flowers. Colours are yellow and green against a red ground with blue borders on top and bottom
and a white enamel pattern going around the circumference. The whole is very richly gilded.

Like most Bohemian glass, there are no factory marks, but there is no doubt that these glasses are from the Fritz Heckert factory (guarranteed).

Condition is amazingly good. One glass has a minute spot on the underneath rim, shown highly magnified in the 'photos, merely to be sticklers for detail, but in fact
less than negligible and original to the manufacture. Otherwise, no chips/cracks/wear/loss/restoration of any sort.

The example on the left has identical foliage in the identical shade of blue, but no butterflies. Butterflies can be seen on another Fritz Heckert vase, page 68 of the same book.

There is no mark on the vase but there is no doubt that it was made by Fritz Heckert.

Very good condition. Negligible surface scratches underneath the vase where it came in touch with a table/surface, but no chips/cracks/damage or restoration of any sort on the body of the vase.

LOETZ MARQUETRY SIGNED & NUMBERED GLASS VASE
Signed and numbered iridescent art glass vase, made by Loetz, late 19th to early 20th century, Bohemia. Measures just under 10 1/2 inches high. Roughly diamond shaped with unequal, clearly handformed sides, tapering towards the top. Very rare technique of inlaid / marquetry glass, most famously made late 19th century by Emil Galle and considered the apex of his artistry. The glass is iridescent amethyst with pink and white inlaid flowers and stems, bending and twisting in every direction and even leaving the ground of the vase at one point and forming an arch (see 'photos). The ground glass has a wonderful iridescence and changes in colour depending on the light, much like petrol in water. While the outside has a fairly rough orange-peel texture, the inside is silky smoothe. Underneath, the vase has engraved signature LOETZ and number 14392.Very good condition with no chips/cracks/damage/restoration.

The marquetry technique in art glass is extremely rare. The last example I saw was by Galle and priced at $100 000.00
We have been informed by very reliable sources that despite the Loetz signature, this glass was actually made by the Glass factory Elisabeth at Kostany in the town of Teplitz, also known as Elisabethhutte or Kostany, depending on the language spoken. They made glass for many factories in the then Habsburg Empire (including Bohemia), so the Loetz signature is not too way out of line.

MOSER VASE CUT ACID ETCHED ENAMEL GILDED 19C
Very rare tour de force of glass techniques in a single vase, made Bohemia by Moser or Fritz Heckert, 19th century. 9 1/4inch high. Slender, elegant shape divided into sections, each with a different technique and pattern, all of the highest quality workmanship and beautiful design. The round, faceted, bottom leads to a band of blue enameled glass, cut away to a poppy pattern, with gilded scrolling foliage. Above this, 2 rich white enamel and gold seperating bands contain a very fine cut and coloured complex floral design, in which the polychrome stained glass immitates the complexities of cut glass. The patterns are cut and very finely gilded. Above this, all the way to the top is deeply cut glass, ending in scalloped fan rims. The area between deep mitres has a very subtle acid etched gilded pattern. Condition is excellent. No chips/cracks.
