ANTIQUE PR SILVER COMPOTE CENTERPIECES PERSIA
Outstanding pair of antique sterling silver compotes / footed centerpiece bowls. Made in the Persian pattern by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co, Wallingford, Connecticut 1895 - 1898. <P><P> From an extremely prestigious estate: William Nelson Camp, owner of Florida Power, vast real estate and phosphate mines and good friend of the richest of the rich and powerful. <P><P> Weigh 900 grams (together). A little over 5 inches tall. Diameter at top of bowl is 10 inches. <P><P> Round base a little like a smaller version of the upper, big bowl. Both have raised silver decoration in rich Oriental style, known as the Persian Pattern. Exquisite detail. <P><P> Engraved mark underneath with J.S. Co. factory logo, STERLING, T34 and PERSIAN. <P><P> Good condition with no dings/dents. Minor, negligible surface scratches commensurate with age, mentioned only for the sake of total accuracy. <P><P> Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co only made sterling silver between 1895 and 1898, when they became part of the International Company.

TIFFANY & CO ST SILVER REPOUSSE TRAY MOORE
Small repouse sterling silver tray - for pins or cards, made by Tiffany & CO during the Edward C Moore period, 1873 - 1891. <P><P> Measures almost 4 1/2 inches long, 2 1/4 inches wide and weighs 50grams. <P><P> Rectangular shape with rounded corners and protruding somewhat in the middle at either end. The border, around a sunken rectangular bowl is very richly decorated in repousse flowers - roses, daisies, wild roses etc. Marvellous anemone like fringes at either end in lieu of handles. Bowl appears to be hand-hammered. Excellent workmanship for which Tiffany became famous. The piece was made in possible the best period of Tiffany silver - under the management of Edward C Moore, whose initial, M is part of the Tiffany mark for the period 1873-1891. <P><P> The mark, engraved, reads: TIFFANY & CO 8172 M 3381 STERLING SILVER. <P><P> Very good condition.

SILVER CHATELAINE ARTS CRAFTS / NOUVEAU W COM
Signed and Patented Sterling silver chatelaine in the Art Nouveau / Arts and Crafts style of the Victorian / Edwardian era. Made by William Comyns in London, England 1901-2. <P><P> Total length is slightly under 9 inches (to the end of the longest chain). Weighs 76 grams. <P><P> Unusual design for a chatelaine - late Art Nouveau / Arts and Crafts with an openwork design of scrolling Lily leaves in 3 related sections, connected by chains. These support 5 wonderfully decorative chains, also with a lily-leaf theme. These would have had various household implements strung on them. <P><P> The chatelaine is hallmarked back and front: the top section with it's back hook has the following hallmarks:slightly worn WC (for William Comyns or Comyns and Sons), lion passant, leopard head, date letter 'f'. It also has engraved Registry number (the English equivalent of the Patent). Both other sections have the Rd number engraved on their backs. On their fronts are the lion, leopard and WC hallmarks, as shown in the 'photos.<P><P> Very good condition. <P><P> Exceptional design and top quality workmanship for which W Comyns was well known.

Beautifully made by Garrard & Co in Sheffield and sold in London, Sterling silver salver / card tray won in a golfing tournament sponsored by the Evening News newspaper and played at Walton Heath in England. Dated 1957.<br><br> Salver is 6 1/8 inches accross and weighs 206.1g (6.63 troy oz).<br><br> Stands on 3 paw feet, beautifully modelled with great detail. Gadrooned border is gently lobed with sloping steps down to the flat part, conforming to the lobes of the border. The tray is engraved THE EVENING NEWS WOMEN GOLFERS' AMATEUR TOURNAMENT LAST SIXTEEN

Sterling silver salver / 3-legged tray, made in Sheffield, England, 1894 by Mappin Brothers. <br> Measures 12 1/4 inches in diameter. Weighs 765g (27oz). <br> Very sturdy, solid salver. Circular with raised border entirely decorated with wonderful repousse flowers and foliage in a naturalistic pattern. The salver stands on 3 scrolling foliate legs. The center of the salver is engraved with a floral design with shells and ribbons and swags, forming a central, vacant cartouche. Great quality engraving.<br> Back of the salver is hallmarked with M BROS in a diamond shape. Crown for Sheffield, lion for sterling silver, date letter b for 1894 and the a sun engraved above a circular company logo that reads MAPPIN BROTHERS QUEEN'S WORKS SHEFFIELD arround their address: 220 REGENT ST w 66 CHEAPSIDE EC.<br> Condition is very good.

JUGENDSTIL GERMAN ARTS CRAFTS SILVER HEART DI
An openwork reticulated silver and glass heart shaped dish. Made in Germany late 19th - very early 20th century (pre World War II). Jugendstil / German Art Nouveau, highly reminiscent of the work of Joseph Hoffman at the Wiener Werkstatte. <P> Measures just under 1 1/4 inches high; 6 1/2 inches accross widest part and 7 inches front to back. Handle is 2 inches high.<P> Stands on 4 ball feet. Bottom of sides is solid silver, from half way up, reticulated open pattern of flowers - great detail and workmanship. A larger version of the flowers forms a handle / thumbpiece. Frosted heart-shaped glass insert. <P> Engraved signature and silver marks underneath: Crown and crescent moon for Imperial German silver, 800 German silver standard and a hallmark for the maker. <br> Very good condition.

RUSSIAN SILVER & GOLD BASKET ST PETERSBURG 19
Silver and gilt washed Russian silver basket. Made St. Petersburg, late 19th - early 20th century (pre 1914). Measures approx 9 inches long;7 1/4 to the top of the handle when raised. Weighs 1lb 4.6oz on my electronic postal scale. Oval shape. stands on oval base. Handle with little scrolls on the sides near the hinges and widenting towards the top. Inside is richly gilt washed. Hallmarked with 84 and St. Petersburg mark (used between 1896-1914) and maker's mark P.L Tiny hallmarks on handle near hinges as well. Very good condition.

Fine sterling silver ring tree jewelry stand, made Chester, England 1907.<br> Measures approx 4 inches accross X 2 3/4inches high.<br> Round tray with concave sloping sides and handles on either end. Domed in the center with stylised tree with 5 branches. Tray is richly decorated with scrolls and flowers. AMERICAN COIN SILVER DISH ON 3 LEGS 1801
Rare American coin silver dish, dated 1801. Measures a little under 7 3/4inches accross. Weighs 4 1/2 oz. Oval dish stands on 3 delicate leaf shaped legs. Leaves naturalistically engraved with details of veins and branches. Pierced openwork border surrounds a leafy repousse pattern. The slightly domed bottom of the bowl is made in the form of a sunburst or flower with raised stamen and a beaded border. There are a number of handengraved marks underneath: In tiny, delicate punctures/dots are the owner's initials - Al, LL and EL and the date 1801. On the other side is the name Langdon, presumably the family name. No other marks. Condition is extremely good.

GORHAM REPOUSSE SILVER OPEN SALT COBALT LINER
American repousse sterling silver open salt made by the Gorham company (and retailed by their 5th Avenue, New York store, merged with Black Starr and Frost in the
1920's). 2 3/4inches accross; 1 3/4inches high. 4 raised, moulded shell shapes at the join of the arching legs ending in hooved paw feet. The legs separate the round pot into 4 sections, each with flowers and
leaves. Rim consists of a pretty, delicate pattern of alternating shells/rounded fans. Original cobalt blue liner. Marked underneath: THOMAS B STARR NEW YORK and the Gorham marks (lion, anchor, G) STERLING A2150. Mint condition. No damage of any sort to silver or liner. Please note: I have another identical salt with a transparent, replaced liner. Please enquire.

ST SILVER TRIPLE EPERGNE BIRMINGHAM 1911
Beautiful triple basket sterling silver epergne or centerpiece, made Birmingham, 1911. 20inches from end to end, 8 3/4inches high. Weighs about 28oz. Central basket / centerpiece with curving arms that hold a pair of smaller identical baskets. All have scrolling edges with delicate openwork borders. Round bases. Handle of central basket is like a clover and also has openwork on the wide section near the top. Each basket is hallmarked. Maker seems to be WB/LD. Anchor, lion and date mark M. Condition is very good - no damage of any sort.

REED & BARTON STERLING SILVER GILT WAGER CUP
Mini Sterling silver wager cup made in the USA by Reed & Barton. About 1950 and bought originally to commemmorate a golden wedding anniversary. Measures 3 1/4inch high. Skirt of figure is a bell shaped cup with another pivoting cup held aloft by a female figure. The wager was to drain both cups with no spills. The moulded and engraved figure is wonderfuly detailed in Victorian dress and slightly gilded. The pivoting smaller cup is inscribed June 5 1906-1956 and the skirt is engraved Bessie and Jacob Levy. Hallmarks on the inside of the skirt read REED & BARTON STERLING X 22. Very good condition - no scratches/dents or dings.
