Set of 10 Dutch silver spoons for oranges fruitsalad or tea. Netherlands 1850 and 1851. Each spoon is 5inches long. The tapering stems terminate in broad bright-cut and curved terminals. Each spoon is fully hallmarked on the back with the lion silver standard mark, the profile assay mark (both used since 1814) and date and maker's marks. 5 spoons made by WC are dated 1851 with date letter R and 5 spoons, made by I over AD? with date letter Q for 1850. Great old silver patina. 2 terminals are slightly bent flat and there are some tiny splits, noticeable if you are looking for them only,otherwise very good condition for their age and delicacy. |
