Emaux de Longwy: French enamel pottery faience teapot, sugar, creamer and plate. Made in France early 20th century.
Teapot is approx 5 1/4inches high. Full, round body, with bright blue handle. Double handled, lided sugar basin is 3 1/2inches high and also has a round shape. Milk jug / creamer is 2 1/4 inches high and plate is 6inches in diameter.
Fabulous raised enamel in pinks, red and green on bright turquoise ground. Handles and finials are blue with pink rings around the rims of finials. Design shows very strong Japanese influence and depicts blossoms and branches. Enamelling is almost jewel-like in quality.
Each piece is marked with Longwy mark used 1920-40 and impressed round mark.
Condition is excellent. No chips/cracks/damage of any sort. |
