Antique copper & brass kettle or cauldron for boiling water. Made circa 1870-80 in England. Measures approx 9 1/4 inches high and 10 inches front to back. Oval shape with curved spout with almost right-angled turns opening like a bird's mouth. The slightly domed, stepped oval lid fits snugly into the top and has a beautiful acorn finial in brass. Heavy, solid cylindrical handle with curved sides ending in large, solid snake-head attachments. No marks to be found. Very good quality. Good, original condition with the slight dings and dents natural for a piece of this age that cannot be considered damage. Please enquire about our collection of antique copper vessels. |
