Rare copper food warmer or cooler with domed lid and amazing acorn finial. Made 19th century, origin believed to be England. <br> Diameter, excluding handles is 10 3/8. With handles approx 13 3/4inches accross. Total height is 12 inches. <br> Round foot with gadrooned border. The bottom holds either coals or ice as a means of preserving the temperature and has a removable top. On either side are double Classically curved handles. Rims are gadrooned. The lid is a beautiful rich copper with sunburst apex on which is an acorn finial. Great patina. Looks fabulous on any dining table or sideboard.
