Antique English, Georgian Sterling silver 6-slice large toast rack made in London, England, by Chas Fox in 1833. <br><br> A little over 6 3/4inches long; approx 5 1/2inches high and weighs 163grams.<br><br> Rectangular base stands on 4 ball feet. Rounded corners with middle bar, on a smaller ball foot, for added support. 7 curved silver bars to hold 6 generous slices of toast (or waffles). In the center is a bar with a handle. The toaster is the epitomy of elegant simplicity and looks as wonderful today as it did almost 200 years ago.<br><br> Hallmarks underneath are very clear: Maker's mark CF for Chas Fox; lion passant, leopard head uncrowned, date letter S and monarch facing right.<br><br> Condition is very good. |
