Manufacturer: SILVER CRUET SET ON STAND OPEN SALTS, BLUE
Sterling silver cruet set on stand with original old blue glass liners. Made in Birmingham, England 1876-7. Maker SWS. <br> Stand is about 4 1/2 inches to the top of the handle. Silver weighs 76g / 2.7oz. <br> 3 open salt / condiment containers - usually for salt, pepper and the larger one for mustard. The two smaller ones are rounded octagons, while the largest, also 8 sided is more rectangular in shape. Sides are beautiful openwork suspended between flattened rope twist borders. Stands on a total of 4 round ball feet. Long pole ending in a triangular handle. THick blue glass liners to protect the silver. <br> Hallmarks on front of largest container lion, date letter b (1876-7), anchor for Birmingham and maker's mark SWS, which appears in Seymour Wyler's book on silver hallmarks, page 199. The lion and date letter are repeated on the handle. <br> Condition is good with no dings/dents/damage. |
