Large glass and silver plate factice perfume / scent bottle advertisement made in Paris, France by Rene Lalique. Circa 1922.
Measures 12 1/4 inches high.
Deep blue cobalt glass, fluted and scalloped on the edges. Top in 3 gradated levels, closely immitating a skyskraper building - the epitomy of Art Deco
style. The reverse gradation is to be seen in the silver plated mount at the base. The colour of the glass is f a b u l o u s. The stopper is turquoise and
has the same fluting as the bottle. The stopper of this bottle is made of glass, unlike modern plastic examples, which also do not have the silver plated
base. The base is engraved with the name of the perfume WORTH. There is a metallic filigree thread around a groove near the top.
Condition is very good. No chips/cracks/damage of any sort. |
