Art Deco sculpture of a young woman gypsey dancer. Figurine made of ivorine, bronze and marble. 1920-30's.
Figurine stands on a bell-shaped round base made of marble. A smiling lady in high-heeled dancing shoes stands on one leg, the other bent and raised as she
leans back. Ivorine arms thrown out in 4th position, head turned to one side. Arms, chest and face of ivorine, the rest is gilded bronze. Great detail to
facial features, curly hair and folds of her clothes with the 3 large buttons on one side. Little roses lie scattered at her foot. Scarf fulled around her
flowing locks.
Figure is signed J Briget, but we believe this might be a later signature. Good condition. |
