Exceptional antique Victorian 18 carat gold bracelet in the form of a snake coiling around a cabochon garnet and mourning locket of hair, in it's original,
fitted box. Made in England approx 1840 - 1880. <P> Weighs approx 23 g. Bracelet alone (excluding the locket) is 7 inches long. <P> Bracelet consists of two parts: 1. a wavy, coiled series of gold links, fitting together, but allowing complete movement. At either end is a blue-bell flower
shaped cap, finely engraved that swivels on a post attached to a sturdy loop. The loops from the two sides enclose the loop of the 2. locket part of the
bracelet. On one side of the locket is a glassed-in compartment containing a lock of hair. The other side has a cabochon garnet within the finely engraved,
rounded gold sides and all of this is encircled by a coiling snake. The detail and workmanship are superb and of the highest quality. <P> Original fitted leather box, rounded, triangular shape with silk lining in lid and blue velvet on the bottom. The silk top has gold embossed: Certificated
