Susi Singer,who studied at the Wiener Werkstatte in Vienna, 1920's (and later moved to California) and produced exquisite ceramics with bright glazes.
Fanciful couple walking in the wind and rain. THe gentleman strides forward, an eager expression on his highly amusing face. THe woman, so very cute and demure, with her shawl wrapped around, yet falling provocatively off her shoulders. The back is perhaps even more interesteing than the front of the group: the man stretches one arm around the woman's waist to hold and support her. THe wind whips her shawl and the handpainted pattern is much clearer here than in the front. <P><P>

Condition issues: glaze loss in a few places, notably the front of her shawl. The handle of the umbrella definately looks like a replacement. |
