Victorian / Art Nouveau 14carat gold, opal, diamond and emerald snake ring. Circa 1880. <P><P> US Size 4 3/4. Weighs 7 grams. Top of ring is approx 1/2inch long. Very approx measurement of stones: diamond is 2.5mm; opal 11.5mm <P><P> Typical Art Nouveau assymetry. THe largest portion of the ring is taken up by an oval opal with very good iridescence that glows blue/green/yellow. It is
surrounded on one side by a snake that coils around the side of the ring. The eye of the snake is a green stone, which might/not be an emerald. Beneath the
snake's head is a small diamond. <P><P> The ring is engraved 14K on the inside of the band. <P><P> Ring is in good, original condition. |
