Antique Victorian perfume bottle contained in custom sterling silver case, set with gems. Made about 100 years ago - 1890 - 1910.

Measures a little over 2 1/4 inches to the top of the handle. The silver case alone weighs 15grams.

Elongated rectangular bottle with rounded corners, much like the very old French flacons of pre 18th century. Stopper with faceted sections and original long stopper. A whiff of perfume can still be perceived.
The sterling silver case has a little handle that can be bent down to either side in order to remove the bottle. It is engraved on either side with floral and foliate sprigs, highlighted with little cabochon gemstones, that might even be rubies.

The silver case is hallmarked WELLS STERLING. The W of the WElls is almost entirely illegible.

Both bottle and case are in very good condition. There is a minute chip to the rim of the bottle, shown highly magnified in the 'photos. |
