Vintage Wedgwood black basalt plate with raised relief MOTHER and showing mother and child. Made in England, early 20th century. <P><P>
Measures 6 1/4 inches accross. <P><P>
Plate with quite a deep well. The center has a scene sculpted in relief showing a Classic Greek / Roman Mother, seated on a chair, playing with a winged cherub / child, an urn behind her and the word MOTHER inscribed below. <P><P>
The back has impressed mark: WEDGWOOD MADE IN ENGLAND, which dates the plate to post 1924. There is residue from old lables, but no damage of any sort and no restorations.
